When I went to Texas this last week my mom had requested green beans; apparently there is a green bean shortage in Abilene, so I brought a big bag of the fresh romano beans. Then of course I wanted to thank her neighbor Pam for watching out for her and she was having a BBQ the night I got there so I brought Prather's Beef Beer Bratwurst for them. Which left a space in my luggage so I had to bring frozen tamales home to SF from El Fenix in Abilene! I'll be breaking these out for my traditional Thanksgiving Eve dinner as we always have mexican food that night. I know, I know - this is soooo my mom - but I'm not fighting this inherited trait!
