It's snack time

Ok, don't know about anyone else but I get hungry around 4 or 4:30 everyday - the trick is to stop eating so you're still hungry for dinner! I like the French idea of Aperitif - late in the afternoon have a small snack and of course something to drink (I like a Lillet with a squeeze of meyer lemon and club soda - my dear friend Jennifer prefers a Kir) Today I made one of my favorite go to appetizers "Roquamole" by the fabulous Nigella Lawson. You can find the recipe at http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/nigella-lawson/roquamole-recipe/index.html My only adjustments are I use only about a 1/2 cup of blue cheese - otherwise it's perfect and don't blow off the pickled jalapenos - it gives it a bite but not as strong as fresh ones - and you can always have them on hand. Also she notes in her cookbook "Nigella Express" that it's good to dip in sugar snap peas and radishes and I agree!
