Think outside of the box

Sometimes things don't turn out exactly like you planned them and you just have to adjust to fit. One time I was at a friend's house and they were steaming asparagus to serve for dinner. With everything going on they forgot about it and when they did notice it was totally overcooked. I personally was not going to be able to eat it like that so I suggested we make asparagus soup. Just quickly sauteed some onion added some chicken broth to the asparagus and pureed it in a blender and voila Asparagus Soup! No one knew the difference - we just served it in little cups and it was perfect. Somethings are rescue-able, not everything, but you just have to get creative. I've peeled the burned part off of things before too! Send me your rescues or disasters - would love to hear about them.

It took awhile before I could recover and post it. The good news is I now have a new sink, dishwasher and hot water heater, with the help of a different plumber. So---lemonade from lemons, again!
