I make my own pizza too - and so can you!

I'm happy to admit that I did not make the dough. I went to a local bakery and got a ball of whole wheat pizza dough - that way, all I had to do was roll it out (add flour so it doesn't stick) and make it into a square - for some reason that was easier than a circle (remember those chef boyardi pizza mixes that came in a box in the 70's!) Then I just added a little of my own tomato sauce some spicy pepperoni (Fatted Calf) and a few fresh mushrooms. For cheese I scattered pieces of mozzarella on top. Super hot oven (500 degrees) and awhile ago I bought one of those pizza stones; it only took about 10 min to cook and to finish, I drizzled with a little olive oil and a sprinkling of parmesan. The possibilities are endless: my second pie was chopped smoked ham with an egg in the middle! I would wager a guess that most bakeries or even a good local grocery store will sell you a wad of dough -even Trader Joes has them - so no delivery or Digiorno!

  1. mmmmmmmmmmm homemade pizza! I did pizza tonight because I was tired and it was fast. (I do this a lot, so I always have cheese, pepperoni, tomato sauce, and dough in the fridge)
