Warm milk to put you to sleep

I found this recipe for a warm milk punch that is perfect for winter. Since you know how much I like my cold one, I'm glad to have a warm version too. The first night I had it hot out of the pan and then I put it in the fridge and warmed/frothed it up in my little Nespresso machine - perfection!

Martinique Milk Punch serves 4

3 egg yolks
1 quart whole milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
couple strips of zest from a lemon
1 cup good aged rum

Put yolks in a large bowl. In a microwave safe measuring cup (or on the stove) heat the milk until almost boiling with the sugar. Slowly drizzle into the yolks whisking constantly. Add the spices, vanilla and lemon and stir. Strain into your serving bowl. At this point you can serve to kids - or refrigerate. If I'm drinking - I add the rum! Instead of just mixing that into the milk mixture, just add rum to taste to each persons cup. Sleep well.
