Giving Thanks a day late!

I've been terribly lax lately - haven't posted in months - but never fear - I've still been baking and cooking away here in beautiful Healdsburg. But I needed to take the time today to say a Big Thanks to this lovely little burg and all our friends in it - since we moved here almost 8 years ago we have been welcomed with open hearts and open arms - this is a huggy town for sure! I feel like I fell into such a warm and loving group of people - truly THANK YOU for being YOU.

Yesterday we had a wonderful Friendsgiving celebration at our dear friends closed for the day wine bar Bergamot and it was a perfect day from the weather to the enormous amount of food (mushroom cheese gratin, pickles and olives, sake steamed crab, 2 kinds of bbq'd ribs, turkey and the usual suspects-mashed pot. stuffing, gravy, big salad, icebox rolls with strawberry (plum!) butter, fancy breads, and a very tasty Korean bbq beef veggie thing, 24 hour "fruit salad", veggie gratin... it was an amazing spread to say the least! And lest I forget the over the top desserts from 2 pecan pies, a sticky toffee pudding, an American apple pie and a brûléed butterscotch pie with curry coconut crust - hello!

So Happy Thanksgiving everyone and I hope you had a wonderful day with family and the family you choose - love you all!

And of course I'm always thankful for my loving husband of 28 years! You are the best part of my life and I appreciate you every day!
