Avocados are back - so it's Rockamole time!

I had promised this recipe a while ago and since Will of Brokaw Farms is back at the market and the avocados were lovely yesterday I decided it was time for Rockamole. This recipe is from Nigella (who I think is brilliant) and it is perfect for a party - even people who don't like blue cheese like this - it's a must try and really good with assorted raw veggies like radishes, carrots, red pepper strips or sugar snap peas - not to mention tortilla chips!

Rockamole

2/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
2 ripe large avocados
couple tablespoons diced pickled jalapenos (this makes the dish!)
couple green onions finely chopped
pepper
sprinkling of paprika

Mash together the blue cheese and sour cream. I use a small potato masher. Then add the avocados and mash them. Add the jalapenos, green onions and pepper taste. Serve sprinkled with paprika and a few sliced pickled jalapenos on top. Dip away!

  1. Wrong it shouldn't even be called quacamole..it isn't the real thing if it is served with blue cheese and sour cream sorry but there are us purist here that will disagree with you even if it is tasty.

  2. Goodness - didn't know it was a problem to have a play on words and switch things up a bit. I called it Rockamole to be funny - as it Rocks! and if you are such a purist maybe you should learn how to spell it with a g instead of a "Q". So name aside, maybe you should try it and see if you like it - and you can call it stinky cheese and avocado dip if you like.
