Simple way to Fava

This was so easy! Instead of shucking then boiling then peeling again... I just put some fava beans on some foil, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with some seasoning (I used Tierra Farm's mix of smoked onions - yum!) or s&p would be fine. Then let them cook on the grill, tossing a couples times so that they get a little browned and steamed in their own packages. We ate them straight out of the pods - licking our fingers! Great little appetizer to get the party started.

Another day I bothered to shuck them and steamed along with some asparagus and some red new potatoes. To serve I melted some butter with a little garlic and served them all warm and buttery. Fava season is pretty much done up here - but there is always next year!
